Digital Shift for Businesses
Running a business has never been easy and the last 18 months since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic have certainly added more difficulty. Many business owners have had to change the way they operate and many have embraced a shift to more digital operations.
New research out shows that almost two-thirds of SME’s believe that the digital changes they’ve made in the last 12 months will benefit their business long term. These changes include contactless services including secure digital payments and digital customer service. Many of these businesses have also continued offering mobile orders and curb side pickup.
Also reported was 62% of SME’s in Australia and New Zealand have increased their online presence in the last 12 months with many noting that they would not have survived using technology from a decade ago. Globally, many SME’s have started using E-commerce software for the first time and will continue to utilise this as part of the day to day running of their business.
These statistics show us that incorporating some form of digitisation is an extremely important part of running a small business in today’s world. Generally, customers expect to be able to find your business online in some form whether this be social media, a website or current information listed in Google.
